The classic card game Belote has a rich history that spans over a century, captivating players globally with its allure.

Belote, originally known as belotte, is a trick-and-meld card game that originated around 1920, hailing from the popular klaberjass and now holding the prestigious title of the most beloved card game in France.

The objective of Belote is to accumulate points with your partner through trick-taking. The victorious team is the first to reach 500 points, a goal that requires strategic play and precise coordination.

Belote is a point-trick taking game designed for precisely four players. To commence play, a deck of 32 cards featuring distinct ranks such as A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7 is essential. Players pair up to form two teams, with partners seated opposite each other. Each player is dealt 8 cards, while one card is revealed in the center to establish the ‘Trump’ suit when selected during bidding.

Players take turns beginning with the individual to the left of the dealer. The decision to take the trump card rests with each player until it finds its rightful owner or circulates back to the dealer.

Scoring values are assigned to different card ranks, with considerations made based on whether Jacks and Nines align with the trump suit. The triumphant player of the final trick secures an additional 10 points towards their total score.
